Being a parent is great but it does seem to have a habit of changing, constantly. One moment you feel you have this 'parenting thing' sussed and the next week you feel like you've lost any hope of raising a well balanced individual.
I understand that sometimes you can feel isolated and unsure what advice to take or where to turn. At times you are left feeling pretty vulnerable.
I'm a mum of a 10 and 16 year old and I am far from being a perfect parent, it's important to recognise there is no such thing, but what I do have is the knowledge of their development to understand their behaviour and in turn that changes how I respond to them.
Although I have worked within the Early Years sector for the last 20 years when my son hit his teens my interest spread and it made me revisit child development through the adolescent years. Thank goodness I did! What a challenge these years are. If you need help or advice please remember you're not alone, do get in touch to see if I can help and support you.
I am so passionate about child development and using this knowledge to support children where they are developmentally in order to increase their resilience, self-esteem and self worth.
Bridge the Gap offers a free 15 minute phone or FaceTime call to any parent needing support. You may then wish to arrange further consultations either in person or by telephone, or you may find that I have been able to answer your questions within the 15 minutes.
